BW Jack O Lantern

Well, this is an English spirit that i really love! This mischievious being has a very interesting story that i believe few people know of. Jack was a farmer that had many crops, including pumpkins. One day, while he was watering his crops, Satan came to him and tried to tempt him, but Jack was no fool, and he tricked the devil instead, making him get on a tree. To his surprise, Satan suffered from Vertigo, and wanted Jack to help him get down. Jack said:- “I will get you down… if you promise me that I won’t go to hell.”- Satan accepted. Some years later, Jack died and went straight to hell, but Satan kept his promise and sent him to heaven. But heaven’s gatekeeper wouldn’t let him in, because he made a pact with the devil. So Jack was left in our world seeking some rest, but he will never get it. He made a lantern out of one of his pumpkins to see in the dark. And now, he is jealous of the living, and keeps trying to find ways to scare them. Thus the “trick or treat” phrase was born. A lot of influence from Persona’s Jack O’ Lantern can be seen in my version, it is said that Jack O’ Lantern has some relation with the snowman spirit known as Jack Frost, but I haven’t found anything about Jack Frost.
